What is BMI?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a numerical value calculated from a person's weight and height. It was developed by Belgian mathematician Adolphe Quetelet in the 19th century and is now used worldwide by doctors, nutritionists, and health organisations including the World Health Organization (WHO).
BMI does not directly measure body fat, but it is a quick and inexpensive screening method to categorise weight status.
BMI Formula — Metric (kg and cm)
